Well, I don’t know…
should I even dive
into this problem?
I’ve got a big garden,
lots of grass,
and, truth be told,
almost no
living vegetables.

What I need
is a plan —
what to plant,
what to sow,
and how to shape
this garden poetically,
maybe even graphically.

I’ve got a few raised beds
(my back says thanks),
and I’m planning to build more.
The weather’s already so warm
I could plant palms,
pineapples and bananas —
all right here,
in the middle of Ljubljana.

But the best thing
would probably be
to add a pond
and settle some ducks in it,
so they can take care
of the slugs for me.

Mostly though,
I need to build willpower.
That’s the most important thing
for any garden —
because what’s the use
of having one,
if nobody
takes care of it...
like now?
