They left him lying next to the garbage can
Abandoned by all, no helping hand
His body weak, his spirit drained
The city's filth as his only bed
Left behind, amidst the debris
Of a once cherished childhood fantasy
Lies a forlorn piece of foam and fleece
Forgotten, abandoned, left to cease
If you looked closely, you'd see
The teddy bear's worn-out fur,
A testament to days long past,
Memories fading, a gentle blur.
When I saw him, I remembered
the days of carefree laughter and play,
of innocence and simplicity,
when love was pure and everlasting.
But as time passed, I realized
that love is not always eternal,
that even the strongest bonds can break,
and hearts can be left shattered.
